Take the coastal to Lisbon to enjoy a general panoramic tour of the city.
Start by Belém area, where to find the monuments related with the historical golden period of the Portuguese Discoveries by Sea – Belém Tower, the Monument to the Discoveries and Jerónimos Monastery. Drive to the heart of downtown – “Baixa” the main shopping district and the riverside square Praça do Comercio. Visit the city’s oldest sections and walk through the old and typical quarter of Alfama, showing its picturesque narrow streets and alleys. Finally Avenida da Liberdade and Marquês de Pombal square to the top of Edward VII Park to admire the views and return to Estoril.

In brief: a visit of the picturesque town of Sintra, set in the middle of beautiful mountains and Lisbon coast, including Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of continental Europe and the emblematic seaside towns of Cascais and Estoril.
Duration: Half day (approximately 4 hours, AM or PM)
Depart from the hotel and drive to Sintra – located on the foot of the luxuriant hills, Sintra is a beautiful romantic town. Manor houses and Palaces are scattered along its winding streets and its town Palace was once the summer residence of the Portuguese Royal Family. Short guided tour in itspicturesque centre and free time for shopping in the local handicraft shops or just walk around.
Leave Sintra and drive along the winding road that leads to Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of continental Europe, “where the land ends and the sea begin…” Stop here to enjoy the views. Following the coastline we’ll enjoy the fantastic panoramic approach to Guincho beaches before reaching Cascais, originally a fishing village, nowadays a beautiful cosmopolitan town where we admire pretty houses and palaces. Return to hotel, if in Lisbon will take the coastal road and pass Estoril with its imposing Casino.

In brief: Travel southwards to visit the magnificent monumental city of Évora (130 km from Lisbon), enjoy a walking tour in this city museum considered as “world patrimony” by Unesco.
Duration: Full day (10 hours)
Take the highway and drive across the wide plains of “Alentejo” province – unexplored region southwards of Lisbon where the open ample landscape is peppered with cork-oaks (it is the largest cork region of the country), olive trees, Castles and well preserved small villages of white washed houses and patios that witness the influence of the Arabs.
Évora, capital of the Alentejo province is part of the world’s patrimony, due to its historical and monumental importance. A walled city with alleys cut by arches, brilliant white houses, flower-decked terraces, openwork balconies and tiled patios. From its rich past, Évora retains several medieval and Renaissance palaces and mansions which offer diverse a panoply of Portuguese architecture. It is also an important agricultural market and the base of several crafts and industries such as cork, woollen carpets and leather.
We’ll enjoy a walking tour including the Roman temple, the Romanesque Gothic cathedral (closed on Mondays), the S. Francisco Church with the curious Bones Chapel and finally time at leisure in the picturesque charming centre. Free time for lunch.
