The 2018 edition of Global Hands-On Universe (GHOU2018) conference and will be held in Kuffner Observatory in Vienna, Austria from 13 to 15 August 2018. The annual international GTTP workshop will be held from 16-18 at the University of Vienna. The conference is organised prior to the General Assembly of International Astronomical Union taking place in Vienna from 20 to 31 August 2018. This is a great opportunity for people attending both conferences to use the venue to gain a rich experience.
GHOU2018 conference creates a platform for professional astronomers and educators to meet and share hands-on and minds-on learning in the framework of the Global Hands-on Universe network. Sessions will cover:
- 21st century skills for teachers and students
- Remote telescopes and software in education
- Art and games in STEAM education
- Trends in science education
- Assessment and evaluation of teaching and learning outcome
- 10 Years of teacher training with GTTP
- GHOU best practices and reports on astronomy for development
Abstract Submission and Registration:
GHOU creates a platform to share your local efforts, introduce best practices, and way to collaborate with peers. We encourage you to submit an abstract within the scope of the conference theme at: http://handsonuniverse.org/ghou2018/registration/ Deadline for submission is 31 May 2018.
Conference fees:
You may pay the conference fees via PayPal, bank transfer or at the registration desk of the first day of the conference. http://handsonuniverse.org/ghou2018/fees/
Please remember there is a 50% reduction for the conference and the workshops if you pay your membership dues for 2018. This can easily be complete by reviewing http://handsonuniverse.org/membership/, clicking the appropriate link at the bottom of the page and completing the PayPal form.
