Carl Pennypacker is the principal investigator of HOU. This program was born out of Carl’s dream to blend his loves for astronomy and education. Carl is a research astronomer at Space Sciences Laboratory of the University of California at Berkeley, in collaboration with Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Jodi is employed by TERC and has been responsible for creating HOU curriculum, teacher enhancement materials, and activities for informal science education centers. Vivian Hoette is an astronomy educator for the historic Yerkes Observatory, Williams Bay, Wisconsin, where she initiated an observing program in which teachers use telescopes at Yerkes Observatory.
