Kuiper Asteroid Discovery

Kuiper Belt asteroid discovered by HOU students at Northfield Mount Hermon and Oil City High Schools.

The images above contain the Kuiper Belt asteroid discovered by HOU students at Northfield Mount Hermon and Oil City High Schools. The red arrows point to the asteroid in each image. The images were taken about an hour and a half apart. The fact that the asteroid had moved so little in that time was a hint that this object was farther away than asteroids in the main belt.
